The La Baleine restaurant is located in the old Whale Pavilion in the botanical gardens in Paris, the Jardin des Plantes.
Given both its name and its location, Lina Dietrich opted for a museum-like setting that highlighted the skeleton of the whale, emphasised the mystery of the deeps and the serenity of the oceans.
