Lina Dietrich has revisited the conventional iconography of bistro design to reflect the unique image, cuisine and personality of Chef Thierry Blanqui while simultaneously paying homage to the traditional values of a bistro. Through redesigning the traditional tin counter, creating a “carpet” of cement tiles and using a variety of materials for floor and wall panelling, the interior space now has a reassuringly traditional look and feel but is modernized and refreshed by means of contemporary materials, furnishings and geometry.
